Should Joelinton be dropped?

According to the Mail and Guardian, there has now.

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

He played ok. Much better than others (Lascelles, Lazaro, Longstaff, Bentaleb, Rose).

Hardly noticed Gayle was playing when he came on.

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

That's part of his job I agree but he needs service. The likes of Lasceles, Bentaleb, Longstaff, Lazaro, Aliron and even Maximin have been shocking and have given him very little opportunities. They keep giving the ball away so he's having to defend more. Bruce being clueless also a big factor.

we've seen time and again the ball be crossed into the six yard box and him not be there...he just hasnt got the hunger to score goals.

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

Not a great scenario for a goal scorer which he is clearly meant to be. Nothing to lose by dropping him not sure what the answer is as we are not well represented in the striking department. Need to do something otherwise we will be part of a relegation battle.

The ball has gone once or twice in the opposition six yard box in the last 7 or 8 games. Longstaff has been absolute garbage and Maximin's crossing has been poor. We badly miss Shelvey. Almiron has been cack as usual.

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

by not making a decent striker a priority in january they are gambling that he will suddenly find some form....good luck with that

Should Joelinton be dropped?

Let's not forget Carroll hasn't scored this season - the decision to bring him back when we are so weak for cover is as baffling as spun King 40 million on a pure punt

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

Carroll 3 weeks away from return at least. Shelvey to return ???? Carroll may not have scored but has helped us win games and pick up important points so if he does make a return this season he could help get us the points to get over the line.

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

strangely enough the thought of relegation doesnt bother me in the least...... for not dealing with the striker issue in january it would be exactly what mike ashley deserves

Muto, Gayle and Carroll were all injured though. We could hardly sell any of them. Hopefully Gayle can stay fit and contribute in the next few games.

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

with joelintons goal-shyness being a talking point for the majority of the first half of the season the search for a replacement should have been more urgent months ago, in time to have a striker thru the door in january......it's clear mike's hoping we can struggle on and try and hit the back of the net enough times to cling on to 17th place.

i like stating the obvious Big Grin

it's nothing new though, clinging on to 17th has been mike ashleys only ambition since he arrived here.

Should Joelinton be dropped?

He should be in the reserves for a stint.

Bus-heed has done him no favours whatsoever, to continue with him.

RE: Should Joelinton be dropped?

It's not his goal shyness that's the issue, it's the lack of supply. Maximin, Almiron, Longstaff not supplying crosses. Rose, Bentaleb and Lazaro were brought in to supply crosses.

he had a shot against palace man, it was on target aswell shock horror, so that's him definitely starting against burnley. Rolleyes

Brucey is to blame every bit as much as the 'striker' himself.

Does Bentaleb even cross the halfway line?
