Hahaha... That’s what penfold and Ashley told Bruce, if he had accepted the move, they would have made sure it fell through over terms....

You can read these cunts like a book...

He'll go to a bigger club on big big wages in the summer. If we can pay Shelvey or Rose's wages, we could pay a decent wage for him but he'll know he'll get astronomical wages from a much bigger club.

Ashley was worth $1.8B until we turned up. Now he's worth $2.9B.

RE: We were prepared to break our recent transfer record, again.

From what I recall Dalglish dismantled a top quality squad and the previous regime pissed away millions on paying off managers and dodgy player contracts. Ashley is no saint and has ballsed up loads but the previous regime were not brilliant, especially at the end.

We are slowly but surely recovering. With continuous Premier league status we can become a solid top league squad with entertaining players (Maximin, Almiron and more to come).

Hahaha - what the fuck is a 'solid top league squad'??

And please explain what Ashley's intentions are for this football club - there's 12 years of history to refer to but I'd fucking love to hear your fantasy version

RE: We were prepared to break our recent transfer record, again.

Dalglish had input on who to let go and who to bring in.

Maximin can be good but needs to stop being greedy and pass when it's a better option. Almiron wins free kicks but without Shelvey our free kicks are poor.

RE: We were prepared to break our recent transfer record, again.

Dogleash tore keegans team to pieces, and replaced it with his mates Barnes and rush and his son who should never have been anywhere near a premiership club, Dogleash is one of the biggest cunts that ever waltzed into our club only possibly top trumped by the other Scottish cunt sourness

RE: We were prepared to break our recent transfer record, again.

Exactly my point. Managers before Ashley came in played a very big part in us reducing the squad quality as well as Shepherd who made the final decisions.

Ashley made a lot of bad ones also but if we can grind out a decent second half season's worth of points we can continue to invest in quality players.

It is a bit of a joke we didn't have a plan B as reports are saying Liverpool and Man United are after him ie. teams we can't compete with and there should be a decent alternative we could have gone for who is better than what we have already and who would come.

There are reports he didn't want to come because of the training facilities. Whether it is true or not, it should embarass Ashley.

I genuinely haven't got a fuckin clue what point you are trying to make regarding past managers but I'll throw a name into the mix to give you something to think about...

Kevin Keegan - managed us under a progressive board, willing to invest and also managed us under Ashley

I would fuckin love to hear your interpretation of the difference between the two regimes

RE: We were prepared to break our recent transfer record, again.

KK was a hot head as well though and spat his dummy and left us in the shit.

My point is where we are is not all down to Ashley and we need to be realistic and sensible about what the club can afford to buy and where we are as a club.

The bigger picture is we are on the right track by staying in the Premier league but need to keep investing at a decent level.

Not quite. He was asked to commit his long term to future to the club prior to the flotation. As he was clearly having a breakdown of some kind, he couldn’t and resigned.

RE: We were prepared to break our recent transfer record, again.

It's Ashley's player policy that failing us

Buying player because they have potential doesn't always work, just look at joelinton

His history at this club is littered with failed buys and then when we do click with one or 2 he's kept the money and failed to invest in the club's future

Every manager he's hired has been hamstrung hi this policy alone and that's why we're in the position we are.

We all know if he can keep max fit and he does his stuff he'll be gone in the summer to buy another joelinton

Where we are at the moment we can't have any other policy. Top players want to play for the best teams. We can only attract unproven players.

It would work if he bought players for positions but he doesn't

We end up with midfielders and not strikers, an unbalanced squad every season

Yup, balance is vital.

2 senior players per position, both able to do their job at least on a basic level (goalscorers actually able to score) - with one quality youth to step up if one of them is off the pace, suspended, or injured, or to replace them if one of the seniors is coming to the end of their careers.
