Neverton up to 7th

When they were in the relegation zone just a few weeks back.

Shows how tight this league is, as well as how shite it is.

3 wins and 2 draws in the last five games is good enough to go from serious relegation candidates to serious European hopefuls, so late in the season.

That's how you know you're in a league full of shit teams.

Liverpool played 25, won 24, drawn 1, lost 0 - would also suggest the league is shit.

It was a simple question - You said it was a shit league, I'm asking what you think defines a shite league

In what way does Liverpool playing 25, winning 24, drawing 1 & losing 0 - suggest the league is shit ???

Are you saying the strength of a league is defined by one team??

would be cool to see someone else (maybe us) break up the top six domination of dippers, citeh, manure, spuds, chelski n arse........it does become very boring, every season throws up a surprise package, little sheff utd battling away there, trying to get into the top six should be every teams target at the start of the season....otherwise what's the point?

I've given my thoughts, two of them, Willo. Divvent need to say it again. And certainly not with someone from the Cathy Newman School Of Thought. Who doesn't answer at all.

You know the kind.

RE: Neverton up to 7th

I think the league is average with a sprinkling of very good in Liverpool and Man City. Nothing to choose between teams from 10-20th it’s been like this for a few seasons and this one is no different. Liverpool are just much better than all bar Man City. I think in our position we need to be careful always one team who get sucked into a relegation battle. The league is just generally pretty average bar a couple of teams.

Arse and Manure are not the same as in recent seasons, and the fact Liverpool look as if they might go through the season winning (not even drawing many) show the rest to be poor.

The fact we are even midtable given the fact our 'striker' has played almost every minute and bagged just one goal also speaks volumes.

Everton seem the only side to be taking advantage of how shit the league is this season; with Liverpool being the only other side to push on and defeat their nearest rivals - Citeh.

Even Sheffield United are in with a CL shout.

Poor, poor league this season.

Yep. And always makes me think of our (US) “socialist” leagues versus traditional futbol leagues with relegation. Our leagues do have “dynasties,” but they don’t last as long as the top 6 in the epl. Especially in the NFL, Something to be said for increased competition—teams can go from worst to playoffs, or Super Bowl champs to missing the playoffs.

Not suggesting the EPL get rid of relegation, just interesting to see how the different ways of setting up a league play out. We will never have a Leicester City story, but then our dynasties usually only last a decade, at most. No relegation allows for (in the NGL for example) salary caps, revenue sharing, and increased competition. Lack of relegation means the MLS will always be a shot league.
