He needs to go, or keep him in background to save giving him any compensation, £8 million is being touted ffs. Keep the feel good feeling rolling on, get rid and start the Tottenham match with a world class manager.

yep the way i see it is anyone who is prepared to allie themselves with the likes of mike ashley is not welcome at our football club...he allowed himself to be ashleys puppet in the knowledge that the fans of a club that he said he always supported were being ripped off every season, he was to ashley what himmler goering and goebbels were to hitler....get him OUT!!!!!!

He should indeed be sacked simples! It’s not going to suddenly change our results around until we invest in some new players having said this.

They should wait until 5 mins before the match then sack him. ?

Couldn't believe the gutless pundits saying give him to the end of the season. They must want us relegated! Cowards!

Mind you we were a decent side at the end of last season with all players fit.

RE: should we sack bruce before spurs match..

it has to happen, not only because we're second bottom with 3 points from 7 games, plus the fact that he's a clueless gobshite who should not have been allowed anywhere near our club in any capacity...but also i'm certain mandy will have been made aware of the NUST survey showing 94% of fans want Bruce out (the other 6% must be taking the fucking piss)....some may say the 5,000 group members that voted hardly covers the whole fanbase, but even if theyd polled 100,000 toon fans i'm fairly confident the result would have been about the same, while Bruce remains the mike ashley stigma still enshrouds the stadium imo, but i'll be happy with graeme picking the team and the tactics for a few months while they search for a permanent replacement.

todays mirror
"Steve Bruce’s reign as Newcastle United’s manager will end this week.

The club’s new Saudi owners will axe the 60-year-old in what will be the first major decision in re-shaping the Tyneside club.

A collective agreement has been reached by the hierarchy that the Magpies need a fresh direction - and the current boss will learn his fate in the next few days.

That move means Graeme Jones will be in the dug-out for next week’s sell-out clash against Spurs.

The club’s assistant coach will step up into the role of caretaker - in all likelihood for the next few weeks as Newcastle crank up their search for a replacement."

If it wasn't him, it would have been someone else though. How far did Rafa get with the criticism? Bruce was given a lot more money than Rafa! I doubt Bruce realises how shit he is at being a manager.

rafa could have stayed longer if he just shut his mouth and behaved himself (and agreed to a significant pay cut)....but he wanted success for the fans and tried to get ashley and charnley to see sense and to improve things and try to compete....whereas bruce would have gleefully carried on season after season with survival in the premier league being the only objective, blaming everyone and everything else except himself, AND ofcourse not allowing a bad word to be said against "Mike" Rolleyes

He was offered the same money. Rafa wanted a pay rise. He said so himself. Both managers have said they wanted more money to spend on players. Sometimes you need diplomacy. Again Rafa's whining did f all for the transfer budget.

Ashley resented having to cough up £6m a year on a manager, that's the first thing, that was never his intention when he bought the club which is why during his tenure he employed mainly low life English managers prepared to work for peanuts (kinnear, pardew, mcclaren, Houghton, bruce)..

He only bit the bullet and accepted Rafas pay demands because mcclown had left him up shit creek without a fucking paddle and he panicked because the last thing he wanted was another relegation, but had no plan to keep Rafa long term, just used him to get us straight back up then broke all his promises, totally ignored him, and couldn't wait for him to fuck off so he could wheel in another unambitious shit-for-brains manager on the cheap and normal service was resumed.

Calling Rafas attempts to make Mike Ashley see what could be achieved with a bit more ambition "whining" really tells us everything we need to know about you Keith.

Whether he resented it or not he still offered it Dick, which I'm glad you are now admitting (albeit inadvertently). A lot of people were getting a bit annoyed with the whining. We all knew Ashley was tight with money and wasn't going to splash the cash, we just didn't need to hear Rafa banging on about it all the time. Although to be fair, the idiot media kept asking him about it.

Ashley knew that Benitez wouldnt want to stay unless the owners shared his ambition, it wasnt just his wages it was investment in players, investment in training facilities blah blah...the point is Rafa could have just stayed and took the money and shut his gob but chose not to.....Bruce on the other would have stayed for years and years with the remit of finishing17th, took the money and the fans can go fuck themselves.

Ashley was wanting out for long before the contract was offered. Benitez was too impatient and unloyal (no reason to be) to wait. We were on an upward trend before covid turned up. Ashley did end up spending money just got wasted £40mil down the drain for just one player. Benitez to be commended for pissing off and allowing Bruce to come in? Beggars belief with you Dick.
