Newcastle United v Brentford - Sat 3pm

It just feels great to look forward to matches again doesn't it? That is the main thing for me despite where we sit in the table.

I really, really hope i'm wrong and that we win but i can see another 1-1 draw.

Back of the gallowgate for this and i can't wait.

Howay the lads.

I think we'll win this one, I think think the atmosphere, the managers first game, platers will be going all out and the fans will be going mad at every attack. I think we'll win 3-1, Wilson, Willock, Maxi, and Toney for them.

Kind of looking forward to the game. I think we will win 3-1. Maybe not so confident with the news about Eddie Howe.

Good game, I think we would have lost that badly under Bruce. More training with Eddie and the team to get us playing his way and week by week we'll improve. Would have been nice to get the win, but a hard fought draw in a first game playing under a new managers tactics. If we beat Arsenal, then that would make up for today. Must win against Norwich and Burnley, lose them and we're nailed on to go down I reckon.

Need to win against teams around us, Brentford did well to be fair. Norwich winning again has put us bottom, but move on to the next. We capable of getting 3 points at Arsenal?

Well, we'll not be sitting back as per usual and Arsenal are far from world beaters. They've had good results recently fair enough, but I'm a bit more optimistic now than a few months ago.

He still lost the ball 9 times out of 10. Actually making a couple of pases doesn't make up for it. Goal quite flukey.

RE: Newcastle United v Brentford - Sat 3pm

Don't blame Steve Bruce they said, the players are crap they said, no manager can turn them into a premiership side because they are championship standard players they said,,,,,,,Oh what total bollocks, it's taken about 10 days for steady eddie and his gang of fitness, motivation and tactic experts to turn this sorry bunch of multi millionnaires into a group of hard working players, theyve stopped them feeling sorry for themselves and dragged them out of bed every morning onto the training pitch and clearly drummed into them that the only way they are gonna escape relegation this season is to get fitter and stronger both physically and mentally, to take more pride in themselves, show more passion for the shirt and be prepared to fight for survival in what is going to be a loooooong, hard, cold winter at the bottom of the premier league.

Still no victory to celebrate but everything else was so much better, 52% possession, first time we;ve had more possession than the opposition all season, 24 shots, 9 on target the most shots we've had in any game this season, every player working hard, every player running, passing and moving, creating space, creating chances etc etc

With 26 more games to be played and only 6pts on the board, with possibly 40pts needed to guarantee survival in the premier league it's still looking rather bleak, not to mention the fact that both Norwich and Watford won ....but the performance of the lads against Brentford does give hope for the future and we go to Arsenal this Saturday lunch time much more confident of winning our first three points of the season....Houston, we have LIFT OFF..!!!

Newcastle United v Brentford - Sat 3pm

as we all know the club's whole remit under Ashley was to survive each season and every big decision was based purely on achieving the bare minimum

That has obviously changed now and these past couple of months just cannot be compared in any way to the past decade

RE: Newcastle United v Brentford - Sat 3pm

as it's panned out with norwich and watford addressing their managerial issues and both looking like moving upwards and onwards ashley would have no choice to replace bruce or he was staring at a third relegation in 14 years, we would then have become what his great mate and confidant plug ferdinand described us as..a yoyo club....then who does he call, the daft fucker had burnt all his bridges, no-one would touch him with a barge-pole...neil warnock anyone? Confused

It's being realistic, i think we might play ok at times but the defence is too much of a joke to come away with anything.

3-2 or 4-2 to them.
