the great joelinton dilemma

...is he any good or is a load of fucking shite?

this is the lads third season we've had him since he was 22 he's now 25, scored 7 goals in 80 games...and yet i still can't decide if he's premiership standard, was MOTM the other day but still managed to turn from hero to villain with his reluctancy to shoot with his right foot when put clean thru by asm (not sure why, i seem to recall him scoring a smashing goal from outside the box with his right in the cup one night) just whack the fucker, it either goes in row z or top bins but instead he trips over his own feet falls over with about as much grace as someone in calipers falling down an escalator, Maxys reaction says it all as he turns to the gallowgate shaking his head, arms outstretched he'd dribbled thru half the brentford team to create that chance for joelinton, and it would have finished off nicely Eddies 'you score 3 we'll score 4' philosophy.

He definitely seemed to have benifited from the extra jogging and sprinting he'd done the last fortnight, he really put himself about and got stuck in almost as if someone had reminded him that he's a big lad and should be using his physicallity more to stamp his authority on the game...it worked and it was good to see him throw his weight about a bit and the crowd responded with cheers and applause which in turn lifted his confidence...when you think that all he's known since he walked thru the door is steve bruces amateurish approach to coaching players, the kid arriving so young with a huge price tag round his neck, probably just needed an arm around him.

He now has a manager who will talk to him one on one, and talk some sense and will have him playing to his strengths and point him in the right direction, but it's his responsibility to keep working and keep improving.....especially do plenty of shooting practice with his fucking right foot. RE: the great joelinton dilemma

He's cost us a lot of points already, constantly losing the ball and missing sitters left right and centre. Just don't understand why Gayle doesn't get a game.

Gayle will score 1 goal in 10.
Joelinton will score 1 in 1000.

the great joelinton dilemma

It finally looks like he can play football and we're starting to see glimpses. The ball for Wilson against Brighton before the goalkeeper chopped him down, and his overall performance against Brentford were miles better than pretty much anything he's done before. Even his goal against spurs in his first season was down to his initial miss-control.

He's not a striker, and looks better dropping back into midfield, or the fabled '10' position. He's Tomassson II really. And look what happened to him...

And two years of Bruce's 'coaching' won't have helped.

RE: the great joelinton dilemma

He did have a good game but it's only because he has looked so shit before, that it seemed better than it was.

He still fucked it at the end, just fucking hit it.

Wilson missed in the first half, his pen was shite but went in, he couldn't hold the ball up.

Joelinton is getting credit from some people because he is running around a bit more in the last few games, fuck that i'm not praising people for working hard as it should be a given, he kept losing the ball and hitting shots miles over the bar.

He is shite.

the great joelinton dilemma

How was Joelinton shyte last night?

I havent looked at any stats but - His work rate was immense, he must have won possession back half a dozen time, he was strong as an Ox and constantly trying to move forward.

The only player that ought to be criticised last night is Clark, whom was a fucking disgrace. The rest of them dug deep and played well across the board.

I'm not going to praise a footballer for working hard.

He kept losing the ball and slipping over, hitting shots miles over the top, that's shite.

He reminds me of Shola.

Sorry but I disagree entirely.

He should be praised for leading by example, recognising we are so far up against it and digging deep.

You say he kept losing the ball, I saw him winning the ball. Aye his shooting was erratic but fuck me we were limited to strikes from way out.

He or Fede was our best player easily last night.
