Desperate times call for desperate measures, he is better than Gayle anyway.

RE: Chris Wood

We’ve got to be realistic. We right up shit creak at the moment, so the players we’ll get will have to be comfortable with relegation.

We can’t have an Owen situation with a player not giving it all as he’s worried about getting injured for his next move.

Burnley must have been like "we'll put a 25 mil release clause in aswell, only desperate teams with rich owners will think about paying that"

Our owners... "hold my beer".

If players won't sign for Newcastle in a relegation battle, they sure as shit won't sign for Burnley in one either.

Taken from Burnley forum....

Eddie has obviously been looking at Wood's record over his seasons at Burnley and has noted that from his 19 th league game of the season he has scored goals.
2017/18 game 19 to 27 = 6 goals: 2018/19 game 19 to 34 = 9 goals: 2019/20 game 19 to 32 = 7 goals and 2020/21 game 19 to 39 =9 goals.
Over 67% of his goals have come in the second half of the season and this season he is in exactly the same position that he was last season with 3 goals.

Good signing to get us over the line I think.

Weakens them and fills a hole for us.

I dare say we have said to him we will double your wages and you can have a decent bonus for us staying up - Then we will allow you to leave in the summer at a fair price, if you want to go to guarantee playing week in week out.

Had he played on Saturday, we would have won at a canter.

Yeah but Kane and Lacazette are smashing them in this season, Kane has 4 and Lacazzette has 3, they'd have been better options than Wood, he only has 3. Haha, joke btw. ?

Came off as a precaution, but worrying all the same as we need someone completely injury free to cover Wilson.
