Finishing 17th

Draw would have been better but it keeps Everton 6 points behind. Burnley have a habit of getting out of trouble. Needless to say a win on Friday would be what the doctor ordered.

RE: Finishing 17th

Forgetting how shit ASM and Almiron were tonight, we did have some good moments of passing the ball and hat off to Wood for the penalty Smile

Valuable three points tonight.

So Burnley win against Southampton meaning they close the gap. It would be nice to finish as high as possible for the league position bonus.

RE: Finishing 17th

Games against Norwich and Burnley the only likely chances of getting any more points, so the team needs to do well today.

ASM will know he needs to do well. If he can't against Norwich, he needs to go in the summer. An opportunity for Wood too!

RE: Finishing 17th

a lot of papers are simply adding our name to these rumours as a bit of a pisstake, eg, chelsea, liverpool, citeh AND newcastle in talks with mbappe...like as if he would choose us above those three....one day top players will be choosing to play for us instead of any of those cunts, then the press can stfu

He chose Aston fucking Villa !!! Just to be linked, even if a pisstake is quite ok when you think of the situation the club were in not so long ago. It seemed like a real chance of the club heading towards relegation, even with the signings.

Whichever players arrive in the summer, the squad quality should improve to a top notch level without a doubt.

once we've signed a player for over £80m they might start to take us seriously until then we're still a joke to them

Joke in what sense? You don't think it's plausible the club with the richest owners in the world could buy a player for £80mil now that we are realistically safe from relegation?

RE: Finishing 17th

ofcourse i trust the new owners to spend what it takes over the next few years to try and have us competing with the top 4/6....but until it happens the press will continue taking the piss linking us with the top players only the likes of citeh chelsea liverpool have been able to afford in the past, theyve always seen us as deluded, we thought fat mike was the cats pyjamas when he first rocked up, they would love it if these owners turned out the same, just love it.....btw the crap the press spout doesn't bother me THAT much....just annoys me slightly. RE: Finishing 17th

Player agents are more to blame for me. They seem to be the ones feeding the bs stories to the media, although with no threat of relegation, top players will consider joining the club now.

Damage limitation for the next three games. A top striker in the summer is something which should be able to be achieved and will be nice for the fans and very much overdue. It'll be interesting which players will be linked.

Just reading links with Pogba. Whether it's agents or the media making things up, it does raise the club's profile. Not sure fans would want him? Too much trouble? Disruptive?

Lucas Paqueta?

It would be nice if the club can wrap up signings a bit earlier this summer compared to the last few as they prepare for another season in the Premier league.

With Dummett signing a new contract, this should guarantee an extra year in the Premier league.

RE: Finishing 17th

One more humiliation to go then maybe nick a point against Burnley to finish 15th while Burnley, Everton and Leeds sweat it out to avoid the drop.

Hopefully get rid of Lascelles, ASM, Joelinton and Wilson in the summer.

Lol

So frustrating having shit players. Can't wait to ship them out and bring in actual quality players who can find the back of the net or don't do stupid fouls.

RE: Finishing 17th

let's just be thankful for staying up..that's all that matters right now because ashley and bruce effectively left us for dead, and fat mike would have seen relegation as his final "fuck off" to the fans, if leeds fail to beat chelsea tonight we will be safe mathematically, the first half of the season especially was so fucking stressful for any true toon fan, we were cheered up by the takeover but still deeply concerned by the shower of shite performances we were seeing on the pitch until Eddies extra training, motivation, bonding, discipline and organisational methods started bearing fruit.

We're not expecting europe or trophies next season Amanda, just try and keep us away from that dreadful fucking relegation zone...we're sick of it.

Officially a premier league team for next season!

Good luck to Leeds, Everton and Burnley. Starting to enjoy the relegation battle now and we should be well sorted now and beyond.

Exciting times ahead.
