The target next season will be in amongst the west hams, leicester brighton in other words tucked in behind the top six....i'm not certain what the owners attitude will be towards the cups, after all the purpose of the PIFs investment is to make a lot of money for Saudi and the fa cup and league cup are hardly rich pickings so they may take the same attitude as Ashley with cups not being a priority.
For me personally just not being in a relegation battle will be a refreshing change..i'm probably wrong but it feels like apart from pardews 5th place finish every other season of Ashleys tenure has either been a struggle to survive or actually being relegated.
