They went after him from the start, maybe why they had Downing on his wrong side, but he held his own, and got stuck in when he had to. Maybe he could be our cover left back???

Dumf told me I would well up, and I'm not ashamed to say I really really did. Tears streaming in fact (yes, yes, I am a silly old woman). Amazing. I have a sore throat and croaky voice this morning from yelling and bruised hands from the clapping. I had to be up at 4am to get my flight back to Bristol (I got into the office at 11) and I am bloody knackered. An amazing experience - what a match, and result, for my first!

And I went a bit easy on the lager before the match (I didn't want to be trotting off to the loo through the match, so I had to resort to vodka!). I made up for the lack of pre-match pints in the after-match celebrations though. Met a few people who have posted here, too. *waves to Finn the Dog in case he manages to get on line*
