Well done Viduka, you showed your class tonight son. Duff had a canny game and Nolan wasn't bad, worst player I thought was Jonas, Bassong looked a bit shakey for a change.

Duff did have a good game like, he needed to. They went after him from the start, maybe why they had Downing on his wrong side, but he held his own, and got stuck in when he had to.
Maybe he could be our cover left back???

Viduka was really good tonight and we have missed that touch of class for most of the season, owen was poor again tho and deserved to be taken off but it was all about the result tonight so who cares as we have given ourselves a great shout to stay up. C'mon.

Viduka was class, and a special mention for Duff, who I generally slate, well done, he made a couple of vital tackles.

You can tell Owen doesn't give a fuck now.
the fucking cunt should put a proper shift in until the day his contract expires.

No way Owen didn't try his best under Shearer. He's just lost a step or two. Martins coming in killed 'em with his pace with him fresh and they tiring. He was battling. I like him coming off the bench.

Maybe that's Owen's new position attacking midfielder.

Owen is already out the door imo. Shame cause i do actually think he could still do a job, as proved by Keegan.

I am rarely rendered speechless, Ryton, but walking into St James' last night did the job pretty thoroughly.
Thankfully we went in early enough for me to recover from the initial awe a bit before kick-off so that I could actually take in the football as well as the crowd/noise/atmosphere/stadium/everything.
Dumf told me I would well up, and I'm not ashamed to say I really really did. Tears streaming in fact (yes, yes, I am a silly old woman). Amazing.
I have a sore throat and croaky voice this morning from yelling and bruised hands from the clapping. I had to be up at 4am to get my flight back to Bristol (I got into the office at 11) and I am bloody knackered.
An amazing experience - what a match, and result, for my first!

No pastie, Joe. And I went a bit easy on the lager before the match (I didn't want to be trotting off to the loo through the match, so I had to resort to vodka!). I made up for the lack of pre-match pints in the after-match celebrations though.
Met a few people who have posted here, too.
*waves to Finn the Dog in case he manages to get on line*

Actually - he told me to say on here that he can no longer get on line at work and that is why he hasn't been on at all.

The best match i've been to in AGES. Was amazing, so glad I went up rather than just gimp out and watch on setanta. Think i probably saw some of you too.. well saw a lass with 'Stoner' on the back of her shirt on the corner opposite Rosie's.
