3-1 Crouch to score first, then an Owen brace either side of half time, followed by a Martins special around the 60th minute.

predictions for monday

We have.............

1. Drawn three and lost five of the last eight Premier League matches, since beating West Brom 2-3 at the Hawthorns in February; our only maximum in 15.

2. Kept one clean sheet in 16 top-flight matches, courtesy of the goalless home draw with Everton on 22 February.

3. The current tally of 30 points after 33 matches is our lowest ever in the Premier League. We have had more than double that in five of the last 15 seasons. It is eight points down on this identical juncture last season.

4. The draw specialists of the Premier League.

5. Won 25% of our home league games; four of 16 (against Aston Villa, Tottenham, Bolton and West Brom).

6. Lost the last three at St James' Park; never lost four home games in a row in a single Premier League season, and not suffered such a fate in top-flight football for 31 years, since between December 1977 and February 1978 when Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Ipswich all left SJP with maximum points.

7. Already done the double over West Brom, and hoping to do likewise to Aston Villa, as well as Portsmouth.

8. The four-match run-in after this is:- Liverpool (a), Middlesbrough (h), Fulham (h), and Aston Villa (a).

Depression itself.

2 1

Go in first half 2 0 up playing some of our best football this season. However Crouch scores a 60th minuite header and its back to the walls again. We just about hang on for 3 crucial points...

Can't see a shut out....Harps not been that sharp. I think things finally kick in. Yeah he's been a fat, lazy, bast...but Viduka changes everything for us. I'd like to say 3-1, but we'll make it more "exciting."

Toon jumps out 2-0. We all start to smile and half relax before we remember, "wait a minute, we are NUFC and nothing is easy. Our pessimism pays off as we conceed a sloppy goal to see 2-1. In the second half we again heave a sigh of relief when Oba makes it 3-1...then in the last 10 it becomes 3-2 and we just hang on in the end.

Will be happy with 1-0, will be happy with any win.

Would love to see a convincing attacking win though.
