I'd have to go with Nolan over Butt aswell, he has more pace and drive as it will be Guthrie who is the holding midfielder. In an ideal world Barton would be fit for Monday, hell in an ideal world we wouldn't be in this shit but meh im rambling

Sorry, been away all week. I thought Taylor would be ready for Monday.

Nolan hasn't shown any more pace than Butt, he looks like he's towing a caravan and has the turning circle of a supertanker. He's a box to box attacking midfielder who can't get box to box and can't attack. Butt maybe past it but he's still better than Nolan as a defensive midfielder.
Put Guthrie (who can pass a ball) and Jonas (who can get box to box) alongside him and in a midfield three that's about the best we can do in the absence of Barton.

Remember this formation worked last season with Butt a returning to fitness Barton and bloody Geremi in it.

I'm sure Guthrie Butt and Jonas can make it work. If they can't we are in big trouble. Desperately need Enrique back too as his absence has had a massive effect on the way we have shaped up the last couple of games.

Fingers crossed.
